RUSHDEN & HIGHAM UTD 0
Town 1st 2

Ian Fovargue (1)
Ben Daly (1)

Town started the match at a lively pace & on 17 minutes Rankin was fouled on the edge of the box, Ian Fovague stepped up to sweetly strike the ball into the top left corner of the net, giving the Rushden & Higham keeper no chance. Town continued to press & on 25 minutes the ball fell to Ben Daly some 30 yards out, his crisp volley dipped just under the bar & into the net. The remainder of the half was fairly even with neither keeper being really tested
The second half had only just started when the ball was feed into Sam Moakes in the penalty area, as he tryed to turn he was clipped from behind resulting in a penalty. Fovargue stepped up to take the 47 minute penalty only to see it saved by Perry in the Rushden & Higham goal.
This added a new lease of life into Rushden & Higham, for the remainder of the half they edged the play without ever testing Dave Beeny in the Huntingdon goal.
The back 4 of Kingston, Peacock, Lawrence & Lenton were in fine form dealing with everything Rushden & Higham threw at them. At the end it was a comfortable 2 - 0 victory for Town.
